Articles for Information & Advice
The Kiwi Families website includes
hundreds of pages of articles on topics that are important to parents. These articles are "filed" in a topic-by-topic listing system. If you look to your left, you will see the main topic headings listed in alphabetical order, for example Activities, Birthdays and Books through to Vehicles.
If you click on one of these topic tabs, you will find the sub-topics listed underneath. For example, under Activities you will find a further alphabetical listing of Creative Arts, Clubs, Foreign Languages, Music, Performing Arts and Sports.
These sub-headings will then lead you to an
extensive list of articles: for example, under Sports you will find an article on each of the 30 most popular children's sports, ranging from Rugby to Table Tennis.
This information area of the website also holds articles and advice from our
panel of experts, as well as a comprehensive portfolio of
support groups for Kiwi Families.
Database Listings for Products & Services
If you are more interested in finding a supplier of a certain product or service, then you may like to search our extensive database of advertisers. In this database you will find
local, regional and national suppliers of family-related products and services. For example, if you were looking for nappies, you could find local stores that sell them near you, or on-line sellers who will deliver to your doorstep.
Search Function
We have included a powerful, customised search function in this site to make it quick and easy for you to find anything you need. If you type a keyword in the box to your left, the search function will look through
all articles and all database listings to find a match for you. So, for example, if you searched for "birthday entertainers", you would be shown articles on topics such as How to Find an Entertainer and What Types of Entertainers are Available, as well as a list of birthday entertainers throughout the country.
When the results pop up, you can simply click on the option you would like to read more about.
If you are not satisfied with the results, you can further refine them by doing an "Advanced Search" by a range of criteria including suburb, city, region, or supplier name.
Forum for Fun & Support
If you would like to interact with other parents of Kiwi Families, you can become part of our Forum. This enables you to ask other parents for advice, find emotional support or just share the joys and frustrations of being a parent. The Forum is lively and easy to use, and will enable you to become part of the Kiwi Families community.
Time and Money Saving Tips
One of the main aims of the Kiwi Families website is to help make your life as a parent easier! For this reason we have included a lot of tips for saving money and time.
These tips are highlighted by some great little buttons designed by eRiQ. We've even included some "sanity saving" tips for frazzled parents - look out for this unique button on the site!
Calendar of Events
As a parent trying to avert the cry of "I'm bo-o-ored", it's always helpful to know what events are taking place in your region. If you look on the home page you will find a monthly calendar letting you know what's happening near you.
