Reading.  It can be one of those bug-bears for parents of school age children.  We all want to be able to give our children the best shot they can at being a fluent reader and having the skills they need to take them on through life.

As parents we play a huge part in each child's success as a reader, sometimes more than we realise.  Our role begins right from when our little ones are babies.  It's so important to read to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers; and to teach them that there's another world out there tangled up in books.  See our Reading with your baby article for more information.

Once kids grow and reach school, reading takes on a whole new light.
