the gang of kids down the road
Hi, just to let you all know. I did have to involve the police in those incidences with that gang of kids down the road. The little so-and-so's were picking on my 9yo at school, threatening him with sharp sticks and other sharp objects.

The cop I spoke to remembered me from the very beginning of the year when out of desperation I called to try to ge the bullies at the school sorted out. He listened to what I had to say this time around, then approached the school. This time, the new principal did not sweep everything under the carpet. He told the cop that the previous principal has done that to alot of diciplinary things at the school so that she looked good.

The cop called me to apoligise for not taking the matter more seriously at the beginning of the year. He gave me his direct dial number and cellphone number so that I can contact him directly if there are any more incidences, in or out of school.

FINALLY!!!!! Its so nice to be taken seriously. I know that the other kids parents are really pissed that I got the cops involved. But the school was already in teh process of doing it, it just takes longer if there are no parents complaining. So, these kids are now on a short leash, and are leaving us and the elderly on the street alone!

Its wonderful to be able to go for our afternoon walks with our boys and not have to worry about the verbal abuse and threats from these little so-and so's!

good on yah
Sounds like you've done the right thing for your family and that's the most important thing.

Hopefully the little so-and-so's will learn from this, before it could get worse.

well done
So good to hear that you have taken this up with the powers that be and they have listened to you. I think its time some of these little thugs got the message that they can't carry on like this on public streets or in fact in society. These kids seem to think they are untouchable these days with all the political correctness that we have become subjected to. I think good on you for taking a stand and showing your kids that you will back them 100% I wish there was more people like you in the world who stood up for what you believed in and made a difference. My hat is off to you. Well done

Thanks!!! :-)
Hi and thanks! I know I have done the right thing for my family. But I still am silly enough to feel sorry for the little thugs. What must their family life be like? In the end it was the brandishing of sharp objects by them that got me to go to the police.

You hear all the time about it happening in america, kids as young as 6 and 7 taking knives and guns to school. I never thought that I would hear of it here. But then I got to thinking, how long would it take for the little thugs to get sassy enough to start taking things like that to school here?

I have seen the damage that a sharpened stick can do to a human body, trust me, its just as bad if not worse than any knife. It scared the hell out of me that my son could be faced with that. That everyday, I was sending him to school alone, to potentially face stuff like that. He's only 9years old. Just a baby in the greater scheme of things, my baby, hes nearly taller than me, but still!!!

:-)

I am beginning to understand what my Mum used to mean when she said that my brother adn I will always be her babies!!!
