I am also dealing with a teen that has been bullied badly and is scared / anxiety attacks - vomiting/headaches/stomach pains to go to school even though the school she was attending she no longer does and has started at a new awesome school - how do i get her to get over this and go more than one day a week

to help a child...
The best way I have found to help any child, no matter whats gone on or anything is time and positive reinforcement. Just be there as a backup for them, keep their attitude as positive as possible, and things will happen slowly. Its the most wonderful thing to watch, like a rose slowly blooming, as they begin to gain confidence and try new things.
We have our oldest 2 boys doing swimming lessons to help with their self confidence. Its been wonderful to watch. As soon as they realise that they can do one thing all by them selves, they begin to wonder if they can do more and more and more...
Also, I remember reading a study to do with autistic children swimming with dolphins. I will try to dig it up..

Help them
Bullied teens need a strong family support and be surrounded with people that cares for them. Enrolling teens in a therapeutic boarding schools or in an activity where they can excel and meet other children with similar interests and values will be of good help to them. If the teen has more friends in his corner, the bully may back off. Bullies look for loners who seem defenseless.
