Get creative!
My nephew was difficult with veges, a thing we found worked is quite common, miniature home made meat patties as eyes, green beens as eyebrows, carrot as a nose (sliced) and lettuce as a mouth with a beetroot or tomatoe shaped into a tounge sitting down and saying what the food is before you BOTH eat it is a good game as weel then before long they're asking for some veges kids love shapes and a good variety of colours, try and be as creative as you can. The funny pictures you can make fascinate them as much as it does us! Good luck I hope this helps.

"special" sauce.
Hi, my son went thru the "fussy eating stage" just before he turned 2. I found this great idea worked for me and should work for u if ur son loves sauce with his meat.

boil lots of great veges.. eg, carrots, brocolli, peas, potato etc..

once soft and boiled, drain and put all in a blender with 1 and a half cups of tomato sauce (or bbq if your child prefers)

blend on high until smooth consistancy.

dont let you child see you making this...
or it probably wont fool them

put the special sauce in a container and tell your child they have their own special sauce to have with dinner.

keep in the fridge, lasts about 1 week.

hope this helps, it helped for me.

also grating cheese, potato and carrots, adding and egg and mixing together in a bowl, then putting a spoonful in the frying pan.. like a patty worked for a while.

Hide it!!
Hi, I hide vegies in things my son will eat... spinach in scramble eggs or grated carrot in meatballs. The other thing I do is make patties out of mashed up vegies. He has to cover almost everything in Tomato sauce what I was a bit concerned with until I read that 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce equals a tomato!! The other thing I found was that he eats vegies with hardly a problem for his Nana & Grandad but not for me. Plunket told me that it was quite commen & not to worry about it. Good luck..

my daughter is not to young to learn that food is good
she is 21mths and i find meal times so much more fun when she has helped me prepare the food, she loves to bake although my kitchen is a mess which i dont mind she has the biggest smiles on her face helping my pour and stir and break the eggs, children i think will always be more interested in something if they helped make/prepare it and this goes for more then just food!
but then again i have been blessed with a vege loving baby! the other thing i try to live by is that when im relaxed i know Aimee will be to, its always the nights i wont her to eat healthy and eat loads that i fuss about her that shes not interested but if i leave her to her own she eats along with the rest of the family! which is another important thing in our home, family dinners at the table, her daddy is away with work alot so dinner time is at the table talking to her , everyone relaxing its great. good luck to eberyone with the veges, but like i tell myself, a child is never going to starve themselves on purpose if their hungry they will eat, if not they will make up for it at breakfast or what ever mealtime is next..just go with the flow!
