Hi!
You are lucky that she still has a daytime nap!!
Both my boys were well and truely out of that by 2 years old! I used to wish they would still sleep, but the extra time with them was wonderful!
Most kids around that age still have daytime naps, I was just unlucky I think !!
Its been weird lately with our 4yo unwell. He's having a monster afternoon nap almost daily, the house is so quiet! But he usually wake at about 6am at the moment, coughing and cold, and both boys are in bed by 7:30pm, maybe 8pm if they are lucky, and they are both usually asleep within about 15 to 20 mins after the big light goes off. There is a night light in teh hall just outside their bedroom door. They both don't like the dark, or what might be hiding in it, ir what cats climbed on their bed.. etc etc!!!

tool belt..
Thats funny.. I did exactly that when my oldest stopped his daytime naps for good!
We started havign reading time, then we would get stuck in and do housework. He had his little builders pouches with tissues and dusting cloths and a duster and glass cleaner etc in it.. he looked so adorable!
He still loves to help with the housework! But now he likes to do the "mans jobs" now too, as he tells me.. So hes learnign to chop kindeling for the fire at the moment!

Love those naps!
My eldest daughter continued to have naps till she was three and a half! This was wonderful, as my second daughter came along when 'number 1' was two and a half. It was a real treat when they'd both take a nap at the same time: so I could nap too!
I have to say that as my 'number 1' got older the afternoon nap did influence her bedtime and sometimes she'd have a nap on one day and not on another. She'd only nap when in the buggy or in the car.
Some parents choose to cut out the nap altogether when it starts to affect the bedtime; but my daughter was way too cranky around 4pm when I did that - so I decided to stick with the slightly flexible routine for a year, which suited our personal circumstances.
My second daughter is nearly two and still having a two hour sleep (yah! gives me wonderful one-on-one with 'number 1' daughter) - but the time of day varies slightly and it's starting to push the bedtime a tad later - but then the next day she might push through without a nap and crash to sleep at 6.30pm!
All the best,
Sarah
