how much should a 15 month old be saying? Miss George only says 3 words that we can recognise and lots of babbling that sounds like cantonese lol.

I wouldn't worry too much.
Providing that he can understand what you say to him, and can follow simple instructions "Pick up the ball" "Take this to dad" and so on.

Cool
thanks for that. The reason I ask is because she's tounge-tied and I guess I just wanted some reassurance that its not affecting her speech. She understands a lot, probably more than I think she does and she is also up to about 7 words now.

hi!
My brothers daughter is almost 5 and I can only understand about 3 words that she says.
Her mother tells me that the garbled mess that comes out of her is speach, but I dunno...
The older sister could only say Mum and No at almost 2 and a half years old..
My oldest was talking, well saying words, at 4 and a half months old, second was saying the ocasional word by about 8 months, 3rd says "mum" ocasionally, but other than that is contented to tell me off in giberish!!! and say "GEEEEEEEE!!!!" lots...
They all talk, crawl, walk etc when they are ready.
But, if its concerning you, ask your plunket nurse, doctor or whoever your medical people are.

hi!!
My clever little 5 and a half month old can now very clearly say "mum"
But only when he wants to, and no amount of prompting will get anything from him but giggles...

same here
my son was the same at 15 months, but when he hit two his vocab just took off, if your worried just mention it to your plunket nurse or gp and get some reassurance, but its perfectly normal :)

My 19month goes on and on saying mama all day long. Every thing is mama to him. We went to the mail box and the post woman smiled at him, he started yelling mama mama to the lady. Iam getting sick of the sound as well.

miss "emily"
Our daughter Emily is 4 and she has just started kindy , i'm a little concerned about her speaking , its quite hard to explain, she can count and recite her abc's says alot really but her sentances are very short , i'm finding that i can say something to her like "what did you do at kindy today?" and she will look at me as if she doesnt understand the question...if i ask "did you paint? then the answers come...she seems to have trouble comprehending what people are saying..should i be worried? also if she reads the same book too often or watches the same movie too often she will then recites lines from them in an everyday conversation...My feeling is that she has been at home with me for a long time and hasn't had the social experiences to learn?? any comments/feedback would be greatly appreciated
