I had a bit of a scare last night.

I put my 1 year old to bed. Blanket ontop of him like usual.

He cryed like usual.

Then he sounded kind of distressed.... I miss interpreted it as the loud cry just before sleeping so left him be.

It went on for a bit long so I checked him.....

The Blanket was wrapped around his head and he was trashing away and crying....

I feel like such a bad mum.
He is none the worse for wear and had a great sleep after a 20 min cuddle from me.

I'm so scared that it will happen again. He has no blanket in his cot at the moment. What am I going to do when it starts getting cold at night?

My 5 month old sorta does the same thing. He does not like blankies on his legs, he is a kicker in his sleep. So I put him in long pants and a jumper on the colder nights..

My other 2 boys didn't seem to do this. But they would flip the end of the blanket over their faces just before going to sleep and cuddle into it. 5 month old likes to do this too...

No it has not happened again.

I've used a sleeping bag thingy that you put kiddos in to sleep. The ones that dome up at the shoulders.

Scared of using blankets.

All I have to do is put on longsleeves at night when it is cold.

I use no blankets and sleeping bag in his day sleeps.

I have a couple of those for when we are out and about.

Dimitrious wont sleep unless he has his cuddly blankie. Tonight hes just cuddleing it, but for his morning nap he grizzled and moaned till he flipped the corner up over his face then he slept like an angel!!!

Motherhood is all about feeling guilty. it's hard not to but it just happens so be strong. My daughter has a blankie as a comforter, she loves the satin on it and sucks it to sleep. All good i say, if its not blankets there will be something else to worry about but just trust your instincts. I am sure you are doing a great job.
