Discipline Tips for almst 2?
My son is almost 2. He doesnt understand 'Time Out' and I'm almost at my wits end trying to deal with problems such as hitting me when he's angry and picking at the wallpaper. He is becoming increasingly rough when playing with me or the cats.
Has anyone got any suggestions on discipline methods to try with him?

boys will be boys!!!
Hi! I have 3 sons, aged almost 10, almost 5 and 6 months...

I remember that the older 2 went through this stage. Boys do tend to have a faze where they are rough with anything and everything. I put it down to a "male thing" But if you dont get on top of it, it will become a life time thing for you to deal with.

The hitting you has got to stop. My boys tried that, back then it was not illegal to give them a wee spank and put them in their room, or high chair. Apparently now it is.

I also took away privilages, such as no chocolate milk for my oldest boy. ( next in line is lactose intollerant!) Or no tv when having dinner. A growling oftern helps. What ever method you use, you must be consistant. If you choose time out, stick to it and use it every time. I started with 30 seconds of silence. Sometimes it took about an hour to get that 30 seconds of silence, but once I started to stick to it and not let him go till all 30 seconds were silent, he learnt quickly that it was not good to wack Mummy. Second boy was no where as bad as 1st. Oldest spanked him really hard the first time 2nd wacked me and he told 2nd off and refused to play with him till he said sorry Mummy and gave me a hug.

Good thing its not illegal for siblings to spank each other!!!!

time out and the naughy seat do work. Hes at a crucial age for learning right from wrong.

Good luck!!
