brace yourself!
Hi there I dont know if you have solved this yet but I thought I wouldshare what I have done with my children...first I always plan in advance...work out when you are going to have at least two days that arent too busy....then talk it up...in two more sleeps you are going to have no more bottle (or breast in my case...I was so over being a milk factory by three!!!) but we are going to do some special things on that day cause its the day you are going to to be a big boy...I talk about it constantly in the days before and try to make it into something great...and the day before we go out and get a new cup(even if we already have some!!!) and a book(library is fine! )and put them somewhere where they can look at them but they arent allowed to use them till the BIG day....and as for the day its self...its never great...but because I have been preparing mentally for the last couple of days I get through it! I have found that with my kids the first day you have to deal with lots of tantrums and crying...thats where all the prepared distractions and small treats come in handy....thsecond day is loads better cause you stuck to your guns the day before and by the fourth day your wondering what all the drama was!My other really important tip though is to make sure you cant give in.....when he goes to bed on the last night get rid of every bottle , for me for the first week I wore clothes that I couldnt breastfeed in cause they only have to win once then you have to start all over again....aghrrr! hope this helps!
