Clingy...and doesn't want his daddy
My 22 month old, L, is very clingy - basically he cries every time I leave the room. If my husband is there while I am gone, L cries and won't let him comfort him or play with him. He'll cry for 2 hours if that's how long I am out... It's making my husband feel my son doesn't love him, but if I am there, L is just fine and is his usual giggly self. My parents say this is normal, as my husband works and is away at least 1-2 nights a week. But it's really hard to deal with and my poor husband feels very hurt. My parents come over and L has a great time, and goes out and plays with them quite happily (after a wee cry of 30 seconds).
What can we do? Has anyone else had this too?

I had that problem
My middle child was like that during the months of 6 months till 9 months. Even a bit later if my husband came near me and touch, kissed my son will get very angry and start hitting me. At six months he was very clingy as i was a stay home mum. I guess when you change him or do normal rituals get your husband just to stand nexr to you. this may make the baby feel more comfortable. My husband used to come home at 8 and only had weekends with my son. other thing is showing Daddys photos to your son. Have a family photo near by and always point to it.
