Relationships……is there a more difficult subject to understand than the complexities of human relationships!
Spouses and partners trying to figure out which planet the other is from (perhaps women really are from Venus and men from Mars!)
In New Zealand we witness on average more than 20,000 new marriages every year. Sadly we also see more than 10,000 divorces on average each year. In some schools throughout NZ, half of the pupils are from single parent families.
Sad statistics and something of an indictment of our society.
But, as parents, what can we do about it?
If you’re facing some hard times relationship-wise, perhaps in an abusive relationship, with some difficult decisions to be made; then some of the best advice is - don’t face it alone.
Sometimes we can’t see the blue skies through the smoky haze surrounding us as we fight another relationship fire.
Here in New Zealand, we are fortunate to have access to some wonderful

support groups, trained counsellors, advisors, caring individuals and teams dedicated to help those in our community facing difficult times.
Relationships is one such area where support networks are available to partners and spouses, as they work through the challenging issues we all face at some stage in our marriages and partnerships.
How often do we put our relationship with our partner on the back burner, while we get on with the tasks of raising families, building careers, buying homes, keeping fit, juggling finances like a circus performer……..
How often does our relationship with the one we love crumble, not necessarily on purpose, but through the busyness of our daily lives.
