Combining craft with making lasting, visual memories is a fantastic way to bond together with your children. If you’ve never tried scrapbooking before, it doesn’t have to be overly complicated or involve a lot of specific tools (though of course those things are out there for those who really get into scrapbooking as a hobby). If you’ve got some time why not document a day or two of these school holidays as scrapbook pages? Pick a day they want to remember for a great place to start.
School holidays require a little bit of extra effort on part of the parents of school aged children, but generally all extra activities are off for the school holidays – including regularly-scheduled activities you might take your toddler along to. It can be especially hard to be cooped up indoors with a toddler who has seemingly boundless energy, so today I’ve focussed on some activities to keep toddlers occupied when you need to spend a bit more time at home than usual.

It’s the weekend between two long weeks of school holidays. It might be time for dad to take the kids for a day (or part day) if mum has had them all week (or vice versa if that’s the case!) Of course, many things that the primary caregiver might often do with the kids is something that the significant other can also do… nonetheless here are some quick ideas for taking the kids out and giving mum a bit of a break (if you’re a single parent, hopefully you have someone you can call on to give you some time off – this list is sure to be appreciated by your willing helper!)
It’s April 25th, a day of great significance. Today’s school holiday post looks at Anzac activities to do together, so you can mark this day in a memorable way. If your kids are at school they’ve probably covered some ground in terms of what Anzac day is for, so it’s a great opportunity to follow up on that learning and get them to tell you what they understand.
Autumn is an awesome time to explore the garden with your kids! It’s a bit cooler and there’s lots happening. My 4 year old is currently obsessed with the idea of the seasons and she is fascinated by the idea that they go around… and around… and around! The holidays are a good opportunity to see nature in action. Continue reading »
Awesome treasure hunts do not have to be difficult to organise or especially time consuming… but they can be if you want them to be!
