Elliot and Emma-Jane Rose have a knack for finding things, and right now they are HOT on the trail of something very…B I G and very…H A I R Y. Elliot and Emma-Jane Rose follow the clues to something they did NOT expect. Have you seen a Monster? is a pictorial gem from Raymond McGrath.

I’m liking

This book is the complete package – a funny and engaging story and also – BRILLIANT images. The story is funny and a bit silly and also has some lovely humour for both kids and their grown ups. There is some clever typography in the text and although there aren’t many words, they are cleverly used.

However, for me, the pictures are the real stars in this book. They’re quirky and detailed and there’s enough going on for numerous repeat visits. My daughters were particularly entranced with the picture of destruction in the middle of the book. We’ve spent *a lot* of time examining it!

This book also comes with a bonus CD so that you can read-along. It also has three songs – great fun!

The conclusion

Totally recommend this book. It works well for both my 3 year old and my 6 year old and although we’ve read it a number of times, it’s still got loads of mileage in our family.

Have you seen the Monster? is published by Puffin and has a RRP of $19.99
