Darkness is falling everywhere and little animals are getting sleepy, feeling cozy, and being tucked in for the night. It’s time for a wide yawn, a big hug, and a snuggle down under the covers. Dyer’s lovely illustrations work in tandem with Fox’s soothing text to “convey a warm feeling of safety and affection” (“School Library Journal”). Full color.

    I was not that impressed about this book as I didnt like the
    illustrations. About darkness is falling everywhere and little animals
    are getting sleepy, feeling cozy, and being tucked in for the night. I
    would like to read with older toddlers.

    although i quite liked the illustrations, dont think my toodler was overly excited though

    better options out there i think

    LOVE this book, I too remember my parents reading it to me, my son loved this story .

    after reading a few books this one is a nice one to finish on. my boys liked finding the fish.

    It’s nearly impossible to read the poem in anything but a hushed,
    slow voice. Baby animals, warm watercolors, and rhyming text make this
    story a bedtime pleaser.

    My daughter does not like this book as the pictues are a bit dark
    and scary. I guess children need to enjoy the book if its about
    bedtime.

    My daughter received this as a Christmas gift and it has quickly
    become her favorite book. The illustrations are beautiful and the text
    is rhythmic and lulling. Every night, we snuggle together, just like the
    animals do in the book, and read this at least three times before bed,
    since she likes it so much.
