We just love Easter at Kiwi Families HQ. We like to include a bunch of activities, and story-telling, in the lead up to Easter weekend. And we try to make it more than just about chocolate eggs!

On Easter day we always do an Easter egg hunt, of course. But, again, it’s not just about the chocolate. We dress up, use baskets we’ve made ourselves, make the photo scavenger hunt last as long as possible, and finish up with a nutritious family breakfast.

Then we eat chocolate!

If you’re into adding some extra activities into your Easter festivities, here’s some great ideas for you. Just remember that the memories you create from this time with your kids, are worth more than all the chocolate in the world!

Little children will find these a bit fiddly to make, but older children from about age 7 upwards, should be able to give them a go with some guidance.

I made these just as a fun addition to our kid’s dress up basket. But making these Easter bunny ears is the perfect Easter craft activity. What fun dressing up in these for Easter morning!

Easter wool basket and pompom chicken

DIY wool basket with Easter pompom chicken

With Easter just around the corner, I thought it was time to focus my attention on some fun and cute Easter crafts. I couldn’t go past this idea for a wool (yarn) basket and pompom chicken. Too cute, and too easy!

DIY wool baskets are all the rage on Pinterest just now. I came up with the idea to make mine Easter-y by including a pompom chicken in the wool basket. It may, or may not, lay actual chocolate eggs on Easter day!
