Australia: Illustrated is big, beautiful and diverse. This is a book with huge cross-over appeal, that will engage children and adults alike, in home and in schools. It captures everything that makes Australia unique, and is written and illustrated by Tania McCartney.
What I’m liking
This book is beautifully presented with a gorgeous textured hard cover. The illustrations are big, bold and fun. It offers Kiwi’s a great overview of our neighbour across the ditch by travelling from state to state, and showing off Australia’s iconic features.
Australia: Illustrated is one of those books that will have your children coming back for more and finding something new each time they look at it.
Conclusion
I think that Tania McCartney has done a wonderful job of pulling together some of Australia’s most iconic features and has presented them in a fun and quirky way. It’s enjoyable reading for children of all ages.
If your children love to discover new countries and enjoy pawing over interesting images, this book is for them.
