In an era where we are increasingly aware of the need to limit refined sugars and grains in our diet, Amber Rose’s Love, Bake, Nourish offers a range of delicious recipes that are also healthy.

I’m liking

This is a *gorgeous* book with amazing photos – you’ll want to eat the pages! This book has a very high publication standard and it was a pleasure of peruse.

If you have been thinking about ways to include less sugar and refined grains (ie white flour) in your diet, this is a great book. There are many mouth-watering recipes that make use of delicious fruit and don’t skimp at all on flavour.

Things that made me go hmmmm

For most families, these are probably not the kind of recipes that you can just ‘whip’ up. Although I have some experience with ‘whole foods’ I found that I was missing many of the ingredients listed (like elderflower and rosewater) and I would not be able to just make most of these recipes on a whim. However, this does mean that there are lots of lovely recipes that would be wonderful for special occasions.

The conclusion

A lovely book that you’ll want to flick through again and again. Although I’ve only made a couple of recipes so far, it’s the kind of book that you’ll find yourself returning to – especially if you want to make something that will make people oooo and ah!
