Choosing baby care products

choosing baby care products

As adults, we can make our own choices about whether it’s worth spending a little more on certain types of skincare, or whether we want to check ingredient lists carefully before choosing what will be absorbed through our skin.¬† Our children rely on their parents for these decisions, and sometimes that can feel like a heavy weight on our shoulders!¬† It can be hard to negotiate the vast range of available products for baby care –¬† or to know what to get and where to get it from; what’s safe and what’s worth paying extra for.¬† Let’s take a look at some of the common items you need and what you might need to look out for. Merino Kids Standard Go Go Bag

merinokids

I’m liking

Sturdy fabric on the outside, my bag is pretty old now, but besides a bit of staining on the front where bubs likes to chew on it, it looks like it could just be a few months old. It lies flat and doesn’t get twisted up. It is made from all natural fibres. Read the full review »

Natures Sway Pouch Pack

Pack_front_ways_small

I’m Liking:

How light and soft it is. I like that it is easy to put on, and to get the baby into it. I found for my 11lb (4 month old) nephew that his legs splayed too far out, but to be fair I recommend using a wrap sling with this size baby, which these guys also do. Read the full review »

Natures Sway Pouch Pack

I’m liking¬†

Generally, I thought it was comfortable, easy to put on and adjust, and it has the little safety loops in case the buckles came undone. It was lighter and more compact for storage, I also liked the zip in the body that makes it shorter for small babies and the fact it was organic and made in NZ. Read the full review »

Natures Sway Pouch Pack

I’m liking

My little one was right at home in the Nature Sway front pack. And it definitely seems like its nice and roomy for baby (and way beyond), with a larger ‘pouch’ than other front packs I have tried. Easily adjustable and well made, I’m sure it would be worth its weight in organic cotton. And importantly, it supports your child in an ergonomic position, with comfy straps for the wearer. Natures Sway Pouch Pack

I’m liking…¬†

I really liked this pack. The material is lovely and soft (and organic) and I found it really easy to adjust. My baby sat on her bottom in it so I felt like she was comfortable and could sleep easily. The hood attached easily and made it easy to calm my baby and get her to sleep. Read the full review »

Moai

I’m Liking:

I like the idea very much. A piece of kit that allows you to transport your sleeping baby from the house, car seat, buggy, bed, hammock (you can get a hook or stand for that), shops, grocery store… or anywhere really, to another location without having to wake them. Read the full review »
