Getting there

Auckland is often seen as the gateway to New Zealand so there are a number of options for getting there and away. Many airlines offer well-priced domestic air fares to Auckland.

If are driving to drive to Auckland, you will have greater flexibility to get around the city and surrounds. Driving to Auckland from most North Island centres can be done in one day or you may choose to combine it with some other great places en route.

When should we go?

Auckland is the warmest of New Zealand’s main centres and can enjoyed year round. However, to make the most of the outdoors and the stunning beaches, the summer months (Dec and March) offer the most flexibility. Bear in mind that Auckland weather is famous for being unpredictable and having ‘four seasons in one day’.
