123 ELEVATOR, exclusively for iPad, is a unique introduction to numbers, counting and basic cognitive skills for children aged 1–4.

The present release includes the first in-app pack Numbers. The full game will contain nine complementary in-app packs, all played using the same 10-floor ELEVATOR user interface. The remaining eight in-app packs will be launched over the next 12 months, starting in June 2014.

Each of the nine packs will contain 30 unique puzzles, 165 reasoning activities and 30 characters hiding in wait. The full game will include a total of 270 unique puzzles, 4,950 reasoning activities, over 200 unique characters and plenty of other elements.

I’m liking

Does your child love to ride up and down in an elevator? The elevator number panel user interface is spot on.
It is very easy to use and introduces the child the basic numbers and counting up to 10 and down to 1. Learning happens through play.

The ten floors have cute animal figures waiting in hiding plus multiple layers of puzzles to solve.

Things that made me go hmmmm

Children do develop in their own pace. Still my guess is, that kids over four years of age may get bored quickly with this app – at least, if the kid is familiar with touchscreen apps. Difficult to say.

The conclusion

A great introduction to basic cognitive skill for kids under 4 years of age, done in an ingenious way. One can start already by the age of one, one and a half with peekaboo animals and activate the puzzles later on.

One has to remember that it is never too early to start learning. In this app it has been done through joy and play.
