Rollie is a vertical grill designed to cook eggs (and other things) in minutes. The egg pops out in a sausage shape and is super easy to chop into bit sized bits for the small people.

I’m liking

It’s fair to say that I was a bit sniffy about Rollie when I first saw it. Another single use appliance? Do I really need that, I asked myself? My daughter was intrigued by the whole thing and so I agreed to give it a go. And you know what? I’m sold! I’ve had Rollie for lunch most days this week and it’s brill! You just pop the egg in and away it goes. And I’m still enjoying the novelty value of sausage shaped egg. The egg also does a magic trick and rises out of the Rollie when it’s cooked. Hilarious!! (And ever so slightly rude looking ;)). The kids gather around for the magic moment!

Rollie also cooks other things and the recipe book has ideas for wraps and sausages. I haven’t tried them yet but might give the sausages a go sometime. Seems like the kind of thing the kids would like.

Things that made me go hmmmm

Let’s face it, there are only so many things you can cook in a Rollie but it’s not expensive- I’ve seen it in the supermarket for around $40-$50 – and is good fun, especially for those who like eggs.

The conclusion

I’m a sucker for kitchen widgets so this is kinda up my alley. Having said that, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. Rollie, I’ll be keeping you!
