The Munchkin Nappy Disposal System is a storage system for disposing of dirty nappies. The self-sealing system tightly seals the bag and locks odours away, while the baking soda cartridge safely absorbs odours and dispenses natural baking soda each time the lid is closed. The system comes fully assembled and includes 3 Nappy Disposal Refill Bags.

I’m liking

I’m liking the tidy look of the unit and it’s fantastic to have a nappy bin which locks away smells (even those created by a two year old) and has the nappies locked away from the children. I also like the idea of the baking soda in the lid and the fact that when you close the lid it twists the bag and seals it each time without you having to do it yourself.

Things that made me go hmmmm

I wasn’t sure that the clever little baking soda dispenser actually sprinkled each nappy the way it is supposed to. Having said that, as I mentioned the unit didn’t smell so the possible lack of sprinkling wasn’t necessarily a problem – that is until I removed the bag from the unit and it came untwisted. At that point the nappies did smell in the normal rubbish bin. I found the mechanism also started to get jammed when the nappy disposal unit became full. Of course we all know we should empty these things frequently but we all try to shove too much rubbish into the bag, a couple more things into the washing machine, an extra loaf of bread into the freezer or an extra nappy into the bin! The unit and refills are also more expensive than some other similar systems.

The conclusion

This is a good, tidy little unit that does exactly what it’s supposed too. I found it easy to use and I liked it – however once I ran out of refills I did return to using the system I had previously been using.
