I should probably mention here that upon learning that I was going to review this movie, my 3 year old son Ted decided that he should be co-author. You have been warned….
Ted says: “The movie was about Thomas and a really useful engine who got stuck in a mine and some bad men took a GOLDEN crown and then THEY FOUND IT!” When asked if anything else happened Ted replied “I don’t know Mummy, it was a really long movie.”
Ted’s Mum says: “He is basically right. Thomas and some other engines have adventures and a really old steam engine called Stephen tries to be useful and ends up in a bit of a predicament.”
I’m liking
Ted says “I liked the golden crown and the rescuing and the ice cream I ate.”
Ted’s Mum says ” The movie is a great length for little kids. 1 hour without any ads or film previews. It is your basic Thomas programme in movie format. It was a fun way to spend an hour and we spent the rest of the day making a crown, stealing the crown from the King, hiding the crown and finding it. King Ted has spent a lot of time at our house since that day. The King’s Mother is slowly losing her mind…..”
Things that made me go hmmmm
Ted says ” Some of it was scary but that was ok because I just shut my eyes. I didn’t like it when Thomas did the wrong thing.”
Ted’s Mum says “I don’t like paying $10.40 for 2 ice creams. Clearly I haven’t been to the movies in a long time but it really doesn’t make it an affordable form of entertainment for the family. ”
The conclusion
Ted says “This is a good movie. Little boys should go and see it and get an ice cream.”
Ted’s Mum says “The movie was great for kids. Adults can spend some time switching off their brains and relaxing. The plot is simple enough for the kids and they really do get a lot out of it. Ted loved it and I know we will be going to the next Thomas movie.”
