Oh Me, Oh My! Is the story of parrot and all her jungle friends. They’ve lost the sun – where can it have gone? Each has their own theory, but it is apparent by the next morning where it had gone after all!

I’m liking

Big bright pictures make the various animals come to life. There are some interesting animals too, not just the usual set – like a large poisonous tree frog.

Like the others in this series, Oh Me, Oh My! is a fairly fast-paced read, with lots of repeated words/phrases which would make this a good story for an early reader. It also comes with an audio CD reading of the story which chimes when the pages are to be turned – my favourite kind! It can be read without me sometimes!

Things that made me go hmmmm

The story is the type of slightly ridiculous situation that parents cringe at a little but little people love because they get it. They get that the sun was just gone for several hours between dusk and dawn. Of course! (cue understanding crossing over four year old’s brow).

The conclusion

This is a fun book in written by Jill Eggleton and illustrated by Richard Holt, and it would make a good gift too.  RRP $25.00.
