The right level of silly-fun, without dragging out the story and with a good resolve – this is a winner for preschoolers and young school-aged children.

I’m liking

(From the back cover) – “For the Grown-Ups:
OK. Two things you need to know. Firstly, your favourite thing in the whole world is the letter B. And secondly, you’re about to sneeze and all the Bs are going to be blown out of the book. So until you can get your favourite letter back, you’re about to sound really, really silly … And the kids will love it!”

An interactive, fun title, your child will really get into this if it’s the right level for them. The pictures are basic but really cute. This book loses its magic if it’s not read aloud, so it’s perfect for almost-readers. We’ve been enjoying it a lot, and my son is close to 4 and a half.

Things that made me go hmmmm

I imagine some kids would think they’re a bit too cool for this sort of carry on, so you’d have to strike the right level.

The conclusion

Similar to The Book with No Pictures, this is a great hardcover title that you will read over and over again. If your child loves The Book with No Pictures, this is sure to be appreciated in a similar way.
It would be even better with a larger group of kids participating in the interactive aspect – so in kindy and school settings I think you’d have a formula for a good time.

Did you take the B from my _ook? By Beck & Matt Stanton is published by ABC (Harpercollins) with an RRP of $22.99.
