The Hapro Zenith Roof Box from The Roofbox Company is one of the larger, yet more slim-lined versions in the Hapro range. It’s a cinch to attach to most vehicles, and the storage capacity is HUGE when you pack thoughtfully. In fact, the humble roof box may well be the next best thing since sliced-bread. Find out why we love this product so much.

No matter whether you drive a large, spacious SUV, or a compact, fuel-efficient hatch, your need for storage expansion will come soon enough.

If you’ve got a tow bar, you could hitch on a trailer, but they’re expensive and not really that practical. If you don’t have kids, you can fold down all the seats into a luxury flatdeck, but that option’s out with a family. Which brings us to perhaps the most simplest, and most cost-effective, way to extend your vehicle’s storage capacity; a Hapro Zenith Roof Box from The Roofbox Company.

We’re currently driving a Toyota Highlander, so we have heaps of storage space on offer. But even then we’ve found so many uses for our Hapro Roof Box; we sort of wonder what we did without it!

From snowboards and stinky boots coming off the mountain, to skates and scooters easily accessed in the city, to keeping the tent seperate from day-to-day gear on a camping roadie; it’s hard not to find uses for our Hapro roofbox.

What I’m liking

Probably the coolest feature of the Hapro roof box is their nifty attachment system.

Gone are the days of clunky, tool-requiring locking nuts and different roofboxes for every make and model of car. The Hapro locking system uses large, twist-release grips that attach to your roof bars in seconds.

And instead of a different box for every car, today’s good-quality roof boxes are now made to just fit small, medium or large-sized vehicles.

Check out the video below to see just how easy this is to setup:

And while we’re talking about the good old days, I remember roof boxes being these heavy, awkward, clunky, things. The modern day Hapro is made of lightweight, robust carbon fibre. It’s easy to lift on and off, won’t rust or fade in the harsh New Zealand environment, and they’re tough as!

The most obvious feature is, of course, the extended storage capacity the roofbox gives you. But we were really surprised with just how much extra storage you get.

If you pack thoughtfully you can fit a ridiculous amount of extra kit inside your roofbox. In fact, we sometimes just fill up the roofbox with all the extra kid’s gear, and leave the car empty. It’s a much nicer experience inside the car on a long roadie, and everything’s accessible from the roofbox when you stop.

And when you’re packing a bit lighter, or you’ve got some expensive/precious cargo up there, Hapro have all sorts of straps and compartment bags to store everything safe and tight.

The Hapro is really secure too. In fact, you’ll want to look after your keys, as each key is purpose-fit to the roof box. So you know your gear is safely attached to the car overnight.

The final feature I have to mention is the aesthetic appeal of the Hapro Zenith. The aerodynamic, slim-line look of the Hapro Zenith is just really cool. It looks so good, it actually makes our car look better! And, sure, street appeal won’t be in everyone’s must-have features list. But it’s just another reason that it’s such a pleasure owning a Hapro Roof Box.

Anything to improve?

There’s really nothing I can think of that would improve the Hapro roof box. The concept of rooftop storage just makes so much sense. And the modern roof box, made of lightweight materials, aesthetically pleasing to look at, and with locking systems that anyone can manage, make this a no-brainer option.

Probably the only thing that you’ll want information on, is what’s the best roof box for your car/family situation. In this case you just need to get in touch with Jeff at The Roofbox Company. He’s an absolute wealth of knowledge, and there’s nothing about roofboxes he doesn’t know!

Conclusion

Need storage? Get a roofbox. It’s pretty much as simple as that. But, you’ll quickly find there are as many brands and models of roof boxes as there are roofs! And I can’t recommend the Hapro Zenith Roof Box highly enough. It’s a breeze to use, and definitely one of the best boxes on the market today. It’s 5 stars plus from me.
