A review of Baby First cloth nappies.

For more information about Baby First nappies see our introduction. We’ve also got some great advice for getting started with cloth nappies.

I’m liking

These are a great budget nappy. Things I particularly liked were:
Cute colours and design.
The side snaps seemed to make it a bit trimmer.
It comes with two liners that could be used one at a time and swapped if the outer isn’t dirty.
If you think you won’t be able to do a change for a while, you can put both liners in for added absorbancy.
No leaks.

Things that made me go hmmmm

I found these really tricky to put on. Firstly, I’m still not sure which way up the liner is supposed to go, I assume one way has a stay dry layer to keep baby’s bum dry, but I don’t know which way that is! I also have to think twice with the side snaps to figure out which bit is the front on the outer piece.
While theoretically you can switch out the liners, I didn’t manage this in practice. My baby is a frequent poo-er and the liner doesn’t have any side bits to keep the poo from getting on to the outer piece.

The conclusion

These are great budget nappies. I would recommend them particularly for people who have once a day poo-ers or light wetters.
