I am a 50/50 cloth to disposable nappy parent. I mostly use cloth nappies in afternoon and evening while I am at home. I have been trialling the Baby First brand. I had the size 2 (4mths to potty). It comes with 2 liners and one outer part. The idea is that you change the liner when wet and the outer when soiled. It comes in 7 colours and I had a nice sea blue colour. The cost to buy one outer and 2 inserts in a pack is $20. You can buy additional inserts. The inserts lie on top of the outer.

I’m liking

The fact that I can just change the liner, easy, quick and saves on washing. If I was to only use this brand I would need fewer nappies overall due to this feature. The shape of the nappy is great it fits firmly and comfotably around my now 18mth old boy. Not a single leak.
The price. For comparison to my current brand of cloth nappies that cost over $30 each this beats it hands down.

Things that made me go hmmmm

I do believe I am not an idiot but I still cannot confidently say I have the nappy liner in the correct way. The outer has taken me a while to figure front from back. It’s not until you try to do it up that I work it out. Some kind of tag or branding would be of some help for me. As for the liner, does it matter which way round it goes? Will it absorb more if placed either side up? I’m just not sure.

The conclusion

Love this nappy. Great price, wonderful product. Wish I had seen these when I bought in bulk. Even with me being unsure with having things around the correct way, it still functioned perfectly. Not too bulky.
