Ecobubs are a very chic cloth nappy with a fast drying prefold (one rectangle folds in three which is inserted into the nappy’s pocket) microfibre insert and a wool outer. They are original in that the main poppers are all at the back of the nappy, and the front poppers attach to these – creating a smooth front.

I’m liking
This nappy is truly gorgeous. It has a very fluffy microfibre insert, which we have found to be very absorbent – yet the nappy is fitted so well that you don’t have a huge layer under the baby’s clothing. The nappy and the insert both dry in a couple of hours on the line. There is an especially clever design with the use of elastic in this nappy which I have found to be quite unique. The front and back have a tight line of elastic, meaning if you insert the prefold properly there is next to no chance of any moisture being wicked onto baby’s clothes by clothing touching the wet or soiled part of the nappy. Similar tight elastic encases each thigh. Because the nappies come in small, medium and large, the fit is near perfect.
Things that made me go hmmmm
I left this nappy with my mother and sister in law while they were looking after my baby, and they had no idea how to work it because it is different to every other nappy I’ve seen – the front appears to be the back and vice versa. It therefore took some explaining afterwards about how the nappy works. It’s a simple thing to understand once you realise it though.
The conclusion
If you are into styly nappies that are fast drying and very effective, and if price isn’t too much of a concern (they are $39.95 a piece with one insert, more than one insert is recommended for medium and large sizes when you want the nappy to go the distance) then this nappy should be a consideration for you.
