Another great set of books from Gecko Press, the Max series is a sweet set of books about toddler Max and the funny situations he gets himself into.
I’m liking
These books are lovely to share with young kids, they will be familiar with a lot of the situations and characters and the illustrations have lots to talk about in contrast to the simple text. I loved how his dog often came to the rescue – with sometimes unplanned consequences!
Things that made me go hmmmm
The text is very simple, and I thought it might get a bit boring after a few readings, but there’s lots of scope for chatting about what is happening so that should keep the interest up.
The conclusion
A great set of books for your children and even my Mr almost-four rolled about the bed in hysterics when I read them to him. Plus they’re are easy enough that he can now “read” them to his younger brother!
