Everything! This is a lovely, lovely book. If you like your Christmas books to tell a little of the Christmas story – this is a great one! Told through the recollections of animals, this book tells the story of the animals who were present at the birth of Jesus. It’s low on words and high on gorgeous illustrations and would work well for the 3+ set. The animals are full of character and there are some wonderful details for children (and their grown ups) to observe.
The conclusion
This book has become one of our Christmas faves and it’s had many readings already. It would work well as a skit or read out loud to a group and I predict we will come back to this again for many Christmases to come.
