Pink Jam Jams for Mother's Day

With Mother's Day fast approaching, whip up these gorgeous pink Jam Jams to make mum's day. Pretty in Pink, they'll be gone in a blink! This delicious recipe makes eight jam jams.

Course Snack

Ingredients

  • 150 g soft butter
  • 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp strawberry or raspberry essence
  • pink food colouring
  • 1/2 cup mums favorite jam
  • extra icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Turn your oven on to 170C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Cream butter and sugar, add essence.

  3. Mix in flour ...1/2 cup at a time then a dash of pink food colouring.  Mix well.

  4. Form a large dough ball. Knead dough then roll dough out to about 1/2 cm thick.

  5. Grab cookie cutter and cut out cookie shapes. With half of the cookies (lets call these the holey cookies) use a smaller cookie cutter to cut out the centers.

  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

  7. When cool, spread jam on those cookies without the holes, then pop the holey cookies on top. Dust with icing sugar.

Tips

  1. Whilst heart and flower cookie cutters were used here, you can have so much fun using any cookie cutter shapes. No cookie cutters? .. just use a good ol' drinking glass.
