TomTom wants to treat the dad who can ask for directions with the brand new GO 500.

TomTom has completely re-designed the Portable Navigation Device (PND) to put drivers back in control. The new TomTom GO range features a completely new user interface with interactive map, lifetime TomTom Traffic and map updates, and 3D city maps, giving drivers the ability to know what is going on around them, as well as what lies ahead.

TomTom has put the map at the heart of the drive, with the map working intuitively by providing interactive screen features such as pinch-to-zoom, tap to select waypoints and drag to reposition. It is a much more intuitive way of navigating the GPS unit – much like using a tablet or smartphone you can use it in the same way you use your other everyday technology.

The new TomTom GO is the only PND on the market that displays the map with real-time traffic incidents around your location and on your route delivering a clear indication of the traffic speed and delay (in minutes).
